Lost At Sea?
My name is Robert Preston Tonson (Bob) Born in Manchester. U.K. in 1942 . Did my schooling at Stretford and left school in 1959 with the sole intention of going to sea. On 22nd. February 1960 I was sent to the National Sea Training School at Gravesend Kent and two months later on the 29th April 1960 I left there as Deck Trainee to start my career in the Merchant Navy. I was at sea a total of some 22 years and in that time met a lot of good friends along the way, be it only for a short time. So my quest is to try and find some of these ( Board of Trade acquaintances ) and see just what they are doing now in the new millennium .
